Frequently
Asked Questions
Where
does your stained glass come from? (top)
Most
of the stained glass I have for sale comes from England, Scotland,
Belgium and other European countries. I come across some American
pieces occassionally. I trade with several dealers who buy their
glass directly from the European salvage market. The stained glass
I sell has been saved from destruction as Europe has transformed
into modern times. When you buy my glass, you become a participant
in the preservation of what will eventually evolve into priceless
treasures. Most of the stained glass I sell was made in the
19th and early 20th centuries. Stained glass from these periods
provide the best value for the person interested in acquiring antiques
for personal daily enjoyment. Older period pieces are extremely
expensive and are more for museum display.
Is
it safe to use these old pieces in windows and doors?(top)
Absolutely!
It's what I sell them for. Stained glass is pretty durable. You
may have to protect the glass in certain settings (Installation
Tips), but, by and large, you are safe to mount these pieces
just about anywhere you choose.
Do
your dimensions include the frame? ((top)
Yes
they do. The dimensions listed are measured from the outside
of the frame. Generally, the frames, whether original or packing,
extend approximately 1 to 1.5 inches beyond the border of the glass.
How
do I order? (top)
Call
(423)-727-5507 or (423)-727-9172, or Email
me. Orders are processed and shipped within two business days
in most cases.
Presently,
I use only UPS Authorized packers and shipping agents. Shipping
and packing rates vary with each piece. To insure safe delivery,
I don't fudge on packing and you get your new stained glass all
in one piece. Generally, the cost to pack and ship averages less than 20%of the cost of a
piece, so that's what is added initially when you make your purchase. My
policy is to refund any overage of this cost if it comes in lower
than anticipated. You will receive a copy of the shipping
invoice with your package. You will receive your refund, if
applicable, by separate cover immediately. Remember:
These stained glass pieces are valuable, one-of-a-kind antiques.
They have survived through the years by careful handling. I insure
their safe passage to you!
All
glass shipped is insured against breakage. If a piece is damaged
in any way, you can file a claim with the carrier to recover your
loss (I insure the package enough to help you recover your packing
and shipping costs, too!).
Your
complete satisfaction is my #1 proirity! All pieces are
sold "as is." Stained glass is imperfect and each
piece has its unique flaws. That's what makes each piece special
and one-of-a-kind. If you are disatisfied with your purchase,
simply notify me within three days of receipt to make arrangements
for its return. You will be responsible for all
related shipping, packing, and insurance costs associated with transporting
this package to and from the original delivery point.
Visa/Mastercard,
Money Orders, Personal checks (will need to clear before a purchase
is shipped). Please do not send cash by mail. Use a Postal
Money Order.
Simply
call me at (423)-727-5507.
No.
I need a physical address. Most carriers require a signature
upon delivery as policy. My experience shows that this is not always
followed in practice. To be safe, I'd advise that you personally
accept receipt and sign for the package (This is a valuable shipment!).
